Cruise Canada New England received two significant accolades during Seatrade Europe this past week.
The Seatrade Insider awards presented were at Schmidts Tivoli Theatre in Hamburg, Germany. René Trépanier, executive director of Cruise the Saint Lawrence and chair of Cruise Canada New England, accepted a plaque on behalf of the Cruise Canada New England Alliance for a highly commended contribution to Destination of the Year as a finalist.
Earlier in the week, Lynn Ledwidge, director of marketing with Destination Halifax, accepted the “Deutscher Kreuzfahrtpreis” 2012 Destination of the Year by Koehler’s Guide Kreuzfahrt.
“We’re pleased that Canada New England continues to become more recognized as a premiere spring, summer and fall cruise destination,” said M. Trépanier. “Our alliance has worked hard to showcase all that our region has to offer and we are already looking forward to what we will do next to focus attention on Canada New England itineraries and the spectacular experiences they offer cruise guests.”
The fifth Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards solicited nominations for Destination of the Year from across the globe. Cruise Canada New England was one of three finalists for the award.
The “Deutscher Kreuzfahrtpreis” award has been presented every year at Cruise Shipping Miami. In its fifth year the award debuted in Europe and is now the official award of "Koehlers Guide Kreuzfahrt".
