Var Provence (Destination of the Year), Port Everglades’ Cruise Terminal 18 (Port of the Year), IMAGE (Onboard Supplier), French Riviera Cruise Club (Environmental Initiative), Intercruises; Mama and Tapas Tour (Innovative Shorex) and Iceland Travel’s Xmas Hot & Spicy video (Marketing Initiative) were all honoured last night as winners in the fourth Seatrade Insider Cruise Awards, principal sponsor Fidelio Cruise, presented at the Nice Opera House in the south of France.
In addition, Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, chairman, European Cruise Council, and deputy chairman, Silversea Cruises was named Mediterranean Cruise Personality of the Year, an award sponsored by the Mauro Terrevazzi Foundation and selected by Seatrade and V. Ships from nominations received. Mrs Mercedes Terrevazzi, widow of Mauro Terrevazzi, cruise industry pioneer and inspirational figure to many who died in 2009, presented the Award to Lefebvre.
On honouring Lefebvre, Seatrade chairman Chris Hayman said he was proud to have known him for many years and lauded his contribution to the industry.
